AES New York 2019 Exhibition Floor Recording Stage Will Inspire and Educate


— Three days of Recording Stage presentations will inform attendees about recording
technologies and techniques from the fundamentals through to the cutting-edge —


New York, NY, October 11, 2019 — The AES has announced the program of events for this year’s exhibition hall Recording Stage events, taking place during AES New York 2019, offering a variety of presentations where top industry experts will offer practical advice and share knowledge and experience. The series of events, open to all attendees looking to improve their recording workflow and overall results, will take place October 16 – 18.

Day one Recording Stage events take on a variety of topics with sessions including “Make the Most of Your Vocals” and “Recording 101,” complemented by other presentations including noted engineer and gear shoot-out guru Lynn Fuston’s “The Ultimate Microphone Line-Up Comparison,” presented by Sweetwater, and a featured session by JC Losada “Mr. Sonic” hosted by Waves. A panel on “What it Takes to Have a Successful Career in Audio,” presented by SoundGirls, will feature panelists Leslie Gaston-Bird, Karrie Keyes, Piper Payne, Michelle Sabolchick Pettinato, Jessica Thompson, April Tucker and Catherine Vericolli providing insights into what it takes to make it in the audio industry.

On the second day of the exhibition, Recording Stage events kick off with presentations sponsored by SonicScoop, API and Genelec, tackling hot topics in production and monitoring. The afternoon continues with “The Technology behind GRAMMY-Winning Records – Michael Brauer and Igor Levin on the Art and Science of Pro Audio,” where the pair will take the stage to share the secrets of their mutual success, followed by the presentation “When Loud Is Not Loud: What You Need to Know About Loudness Measurement Today,” given by Alex Kosiorek. The day concludes with a closer look at vocals with the panel discussion “Beyond Basics in Vocal Recording & Production: Engineering with Focus on the Creative Process,” featuring Neal Cappellino, Mike Picotte and Jonathan Pines.

The final day of AES New York Recording Stage events will offer a slate of sessions set to entertain, educate and inspire. The day begins with the session “Studio DMI Presents Luca Pretolesi Super Session,” followed by Focusrite’s Dan Hughley hosting the session “Podcasting: The Fastest Growing Medium in Audio.” The Recording Stage events wrap up with the insightful sessions “On the Run with Sylvia Massy” and “Produce Like a Pro with Warren Huart,” where both Massy and Huart will expound upon their experiences and on production methods used on hit recordings.

A free AES New York 2019 Exhibits-Plus badge, available during online Advance Registration by applying the code AES19NOW at checkout, will gain attendees admission to the Convention Exhibition and Recording Stage events.
