BOSS Highlights Katana Amps, GT-1 Guitar Effects Processor,

The NAMM Show, Anaheim, CA, January 18, 2017 — BOSS (Booth 303A, Level 3) is highlighting the Katana guitar amplifier series, the GT-1 Guitar Effects Processor, the CP-1X Compressor pedal, and the AD-2 Acoustic Preamp pedal. Katana amps deliver refined rock tones and feature built-in BOSS effects. The portable GT-1 provides a huge selection of world-class amps and effects, with a built-in expression pedal. The CP-1X produces rich, musical tone for every guitar and playing style, and the AD-2 offers advanced BOSS processing technology to beautifully recreate the guitar’s natural acoustic tone.
Delivering class-defying rock tone, touch response, and presence, Katana amps are ideal for gigging guitarists and home recording and practice. The line consists of three combo amplifiers and an amplifier head: The 50-watt Katana-50 ($199 U.S. Street), 100-watt Katana-100 ($329 U.S. Street), Katana-100/212 ($499 U.S. Street), and 100-watt Katana-Head ($349 U.S. Street), which is designed for use with an external speaker cabinet but includes a convenient integrated monitor speaker for tone preview and practice. Each amp features five selectable amp characters—Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown, and Acoustic—plus integrated access to 55 BOSS effects, which are customizable using free BOSS Tone Studio editor software.
Driven by BOSS’s flagship GT-series engine, the compact GT-1 Guitar Effects Processor ($199 U.S. Street) delivers world-class amps and over 100 effects types. Its portable design features a built-in expression pedal and easy-to-use, streamlined interface. The Easy Select function allows users to quickly find patches by genre, distortion, or effect type; Easy Edit lets them tweak drive, modulation, and echo tones.
The CP-1X Compressor ($149 U.S. Street) is a next-generation guitar compressor pedal optimized for all types of guitars, powered by BOSS’s Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology. Intelligent, realtime processing analyzes the input signal in multiple dimensions, providing natural compression and advanced dynamics control that never colors or muddies the guitar tone.
The AD-2 Acoustic Preamp ($99 U.S. Street) is a compact, advanced sound processor pedal for performing live with acoustic-electric guitars. It features an Acoustic Resonance effect that recreates the complex tonal characteristics of an unplugged acoustic, plus a studio-quality reverb that’s optimized for acoustic guitar performance.
