This is the second time Iron Mountain has sponsored the event, which honors the most powerful women in the music industry. This year Billboard will honor musician, actress and visual artist Lady Gaga as Woman of the Year. Additional honorees are Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes, Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, Kelsea Ballerini, Tori Kelly, Lana Del Rey, Selena Gomez, Missy Elliott and Loretta Lynn.
The ceremony will be held at Cipriani Midtown in New York. Lifetime, the exclusive broadcast partner, will air Women in Music on December 18, for the first time. The program is held in conjunction with the publication of Billboard’s Women in Music 2015: The Most Powerful Women in the Music Industry. Jody Gerson, chairman/CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group, was named Executive of the Year. Honorees, selected by Billboard’s editorial team, are trailblazing women who have inspired the music business with their success, leadership and new ideas over the past 12 months.
