Lowell Displays New UL Listed Sound Masking Speakers


— SM810A, SM820A and SM410A series of sound masking speakers offer greater conversational privacy and productivity in the workplace —


INFOCOMM, ORLANDO, FL, June 12, 2013Lowell Manufacturing Company (booth 842), a U.S. manufacturer of professional A/V products, is displaying its UL Listed SM810A, SM820A and SM410A series of sound masking speakers. Designed with contractors and system integrators in mind, the sound masking speakers offer greater conversational privacy and productivity in the workplace by adding specially shaped ambient noise to open-office environments.

Each ready-to-install model consists of a speaker (SM810A: 8-inch 15W dual cone; SM820A: 8-inch 50W coaxial; and SM410A: 4-inch 15W single cone), factory-wired 4W 70V transformer, 760 cubic-inch steel enclosure (acoustically lined with fiberglass) with grille, and mounting hardware.

The sound masking speakers feature an SG handibox cover with dual combination knockouts for flex conduit and a Romex connector for installations without conduit, along with externally accessible input leads and factory-mounted hangers with S-hook and four-foot chain for single-point suspension OR factory-mounted bridge rails for installation directly on the lay-in tile ceiling grid. The enclosure and grille are available with a black or white finish.
