XANTECH NOW SHIPPING IPRS232 XTRALINK IP
— Successor to IPRS23202, IP-to-serial remote access controller
includes integral web server —SYLMAR, CA, April 7, 2009 — Xantech Corporation, proven leader in remote A/V control and distribution for over 40 years, announces the release of the new IPRS232 XtraLink IP™ IP-to-serial remote controller, extending its line of XtraLink IP products.
Replacing the existing IPRS23202, the new unit – with a significantly smaller footprint, Power Over Ethernet (POE) capability and superior CRMWIC (Commercial Room Monitor – Web Intelligent Controller) integration – offers a fully-functional, stand-alone IP-to-serial remote access controller (including a built-in Web server), and represents the ideal solution for delivering scalable LAN-based control for serial devices.
The unit allows RS232, 422 or 485 serial commands to be sent and received over an existing IP-based network – wired or wireless – to a specific destination IP address, offering new and improved opportunities both for retrofitting existing buildings where additional cable runs may be difficult or impossible, and also for extensive applications in new installations – and all without the need for dedicated control circuits and cabling. The unit features POE functionality to allow even more streamlined installation capabilities, and it acts as a remote expansion port for Xantech’s series of IP-based control systems.
The IPRS232 features an RS232/422/485 port, POE-capable LAN port, and a MicroSD card slot for local device Web page control.
Combining the IPRS232 XtraLink IP and Xantech Commercial CRMWIC creates a complete network-based serial control and feedback system able to handle a multitude of devices, all over IP. Deploying the unit with a CSPLCD LCD controller and CRMWIC creates a powerful Room Control Kit allowing external room monitoring of parameters, such as projector status, over the IP network.
Xantech’s new IPRS232 XtraLink IP is now available with a U.S. MSRP of $300.00.
