INFOCOMM, ORLANDO, FL, June 15, 2011 — When the owner of a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Burbank, California, came looking for an effective A/V control system, Marco Ritzo, president of Advanced Concepts and Designs, a Las Vegas-based integrator, recommended a solution from Xantech (booth 1255), a leader in the field of audio/video remote control and distribution. The system cost a fraction of some competing products yet offers more features, according to Ritzo, who has installed similar Xantech solutions at over 15 other Buffalo Wild Wings locations.
“The owner wanted his staff to have a unified way to control everything A/V-related,” explains Ritzo. “That includes 50 TVs, 15 projectors, 12 cable boxes and DirecTV boxes. The owner’s first store didn’t have any of that control – they manually changed the channel on each DirecTV receiver, they went around the room with a remote turning TVs on and off, and then they went to their matrix router and dialed in the numbers – and did all of that by hand. It was not a great way to control the system.”
But traditional A/V control systems can be very expensive, Ritzo continues. “So we came up with a Xantech solution that didn’t cost thousands and thousands of dollars,” he says.
The system installed by Advanced Concepts and Designs at the Burbank restaurant utilizes the Xantech CSPLCD64G SmartPad Commercial 6.4-inch Touchscreen Display, a Xantech RT1610 16-port Addressable IR Router and Xantech 79000 Multiple Emitter Connecting Blocks. Ritzo notes, “That allows us to distribute IR and control to all the TVs, all the projectors, everything in the store. For us it was a very elegant, simple solution, and having worked with Xantech for a lot of years it was kind of a no-brainer for us. Those specific products that we use we find to be very, very reliable.”
Despite the cost savings relative to competing solutions, the Xantech setup offers unique functionality, according to Ritzo. “The feature that we call ‘all on/all off’ is something that for some reason our competitors did not offer – they didn’t offer a way to turn on all the TVs and turn off all the TVs at the end of the day. We’re able to control projectors, TVs, the rack, everything, and turn it off and on with one button, which was a feature our customer was looking for.”
Ritzo notes that by installing a solution from Xantech rather than a competing brand, Advanced Concepts and Designs is able to offer its customers a comprehensive control system that they otherwise would not be able to afford. It’s an added value that increases customer satisfaction without breaking the budget, he observes: “Normally a place like this would not install a $15,000 or $20,000 control system, so with Xantech we’re now able to offer them a system for a small fraction of that. It’s basically an add-on to the sale that makes the customer very happy.”
“These days audio/video is a must for all restaurant and sports bar applications,” stated Rick Seegull, Xantech Director of Business Development. “As this becomes the standard, cost of implementing the multitude of displays, projectors, screens sources, etc. soars, so the control system can easily break the bank. This could have been the case with Buffalo Wild Wings, yet Advanced Concepts and Designs turned to Xantech to provide their customer with a control system that offered functionality and was within their budget requirements. With Xantech Commercial’s diverse line, we can offer reliable, cost-effective control systems that make the system easy to use at any level while keeping the project within budget. From IR to IP and everything in between, no other company than Xantech offers the range of reliable products at affordable price points.” |
