INFOCOMM ASIA, HONG KONG, November 17, 2010 — In keeping with the brand’s reputation for inventing innovative, reliable and cost-effective solutions for challenges and problems in audio, video and control system design, Xantech (booth 16A08) arrives at InfoComm Asia 2010 in Hong Kong with new and existing products sure to make the top of any project’s short list of essentials. Highlights include:
BDXTT Bluetooth interface — many clients now manage their music and media services through a smartphone or other handheld device. Getting that music into an installed audio/video system can be a challenge, especially if the client does not want to bother with docking stations or cables. The BDX Bluetooth interface provides that full-fidelity, reliable wireless connection between an A/V system and any handheld Bluetooth A2DP-enabled device such as a smartphone, PC or tablet. It lets the user maintain device functionality while listening to music — they can pause to take a call, for example.
VDA51 Dolby® processor for multi-room audio — a lot of people want surround-sound in a master bedroom or other location but do not want to deal with more than two speakers or a sounder. Xantech’s new processor makes it possible to get surround-sound out of two in-wall or ceiling speakers, by converting a digital audio output from an A/V receiver or disc player into analog two-channel with Dolby Virtual® Surround. System integrators can use it with a local amplifier, or even to run the surround signal directly into a flat-screen TV without a digital input.
MRIP web interface bridge — with the surge in iPad® popularity, installers will get asked if there’s a way to add iPad control to an existing system. Xantech’s new bridge makes it possible, enabling a legacy-installed Xantech MRC (multi-room controller) based system to be upgraded for iPad compatibility.
WIPAD and DIPAD iPad mounting cases — another need is for aesthetically-pleasing and secure, permanent mounting systems for using an iPad in a residential or commercial control system. Xantech’s new mounting cases are an all-metal lockable design that maintain full functionality while adapting a mobile device to a stationary installation point. They not only securely protect the device but also allow easy access to power, audio output and other connectivity. The WIPAD case enables wall mounting while the DIPAD case is designed for horizontal surfaces such as desktop, conference table or kiosk countertop, and other surface-mounting applications.
Decora®-style HDMI extenders — running high-definition HDMI video over long distances reliably and elegantly is a challenge. Xantech has a new wallplate solution in the HDMIC5RD that enables HDMI to run over 100 feet on Category-5 cabling. An installer can re-purpose the existing cabling for high-definition video, in a clean, finished installation.
XIS100 iPod® dock — the industry’s first high-resolution video dock was named “Audio Product of the Year” at CEA’s Mark of Excellence awards in 2010. The XIS100 is a professional-grade docking station that has developed a residential following because of its build quality and features, and one finding its way into an increasing base of high-profile installations.
New IR technology and systems — true to its roots, Xantech has also reinvented IR for audio/video system control. The new Red/95 and Green/85 series of IR kits and receivers are designed to address fundamental changes in audio/video technology as well as styles of living, through five-way technical superiority and new features.
