FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LIMITED EDITION, EXCLUSIVE BILLY BOB THORNTON PACKAGE AVAILABLE AT INDIE RECORD STORES ONLY

“Each track is like a mini story....the well-written lyrics will inevitably draw the listener in.”

– Associated Press, 2007

“Billy Bob Thornton is one of the true creative artists of our time. These songs of his are from the heart – honest expressions of the love and the loss and the hopeful innocence that make up this complex soul. You’ve got to love ‘Hearts Like Mine’, and understand his empathy for ‘Carnival Girl’. ‘I Gotta Grow Up’ will make you laugh and ‘The Boy is Gone’ will break your heart.”
- Kris Kristofferson

Available at Independent Retail starting October 30, 2007, this limited edition, exclusive Billy Bob Thornton package contains the entire CD Beautiful Door (New Door Records/UMe) with a special bonus track, “Little Boxes”, Thornton’s version of the theme song to the Showtime series WEEDS. It also contains an extra bonus disc of Thornton’s HOBO, a complete 10 track CD that is currently out of print. For stores near you, go to http://www.thinkindie.com/.

Billy Bob Thornton recently released his 4th album Beautiful Door and embarked on a month-long sold out tour in support of his album. On the heels of Bruce Springsteen, Thornton’s solo album Beautiful Door recently debuted at #33 on the R&R Americana Charts.

A collection of twelve tracks, Beautiful Door is a lyrical, sonic story about life and death, beginnings and ends. From the title track “Beautiful Door”, Thornton’s commentary about war, politics, religion and the life and death of innocent people, to “It’s Just Me”, told from the perspective of someone who committed suicide, to “Restin’ Your Soul”, told from the perspective of the person left behind; from the hopeful “Hearts Like Mine” to the biographical “Always Countin’” about Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder; from the loss of young men in war in “Hope For Glory” to “The Boy Is Gone”, about the loss of a child. Beautiful Door features an equally diverse blend of roots rock, country, and folk — the genres Billy Bob Thornton has always loved most. Joining the singer-songwriter-drummer, who also produced the album, are co-writer and guitarist Brad Davis, bassist Leland Sklar and keyboardist Teddy Andreadis. Additionally, Graham Nash adds his signature background vocals on three tracks.

His album HOBO was released in 2005 and for this, Thornton focused on the California experience, as he offered his own personal accounts of life in Hollywood, alongside his profound observations of the Golden State's people, tempos and landscapes. As PopMatters.com declared: "HOBO is a concept album about the gypsies, tramps and thieves who make their way to LaLa land in search of their dreams. His affection for Los Angeles and her wicked ways spills over into his songs. Even the darkest tracks have characters that, even in their faults, remain sympathetic. On HOBO, Thornton and his collaborators weave together a tight, alluring mix of Americana with a tinge of psychedelia that's been dubbed 'Hillbilly Pink Floyd.'"
