NAMM WINTER SESSION, ANAHEIM, CA, January
15, 2004 — Korg is displaying the microKONTROL,
a fully-featured, compact MIDI controller designed for computer-based
and live performance musicians, DJs, and producers alike.
The microKONTROL offers a wide variety of control possibilities,
including support for plug-ins, software synths, and sequencing/DAW
applications, at an affordable price.
Its 37-note mini-key velocity sensitive keyboard
has 8 rotary encoders and sliders with LCDs to easily display
parameter names and values even on a darkened stage or DJ
booth. 16 velocity-sensitive pads are provided for drum
programming, system control, and transport control for sequencing.
A 4-way assignable joystick is provided as well.
Additional features include:
• The ability to instantly switch between 12 sets
of parameter assignments
• Library management of parameter templates using
the FREE microKONTROL software for Mac® (OSX)/PC (Windows®
XP) included in the box
• A variety of templates for controlling popular music
software titles also included
• Tempo control with MIDI clock
• USB, MIDI IN/MIDI OUT ports can be used as a USB-MIDI
interface
• Power Options — can be powered by USB Buss,
6 AA batteries, or included AC adapter
• Assignable pedal input
The microKONTROL’s compact chassis (20.63"
W x 9.13" D x 2.76" H) makes it ideal for the
musician or DJ working in a limited-space environment.
The Korg microKONTROL is currently available
with a U.S. MSRP of $375.
