Getting To and From the AES137 Convention Is a Breeze
with L.A.’s Public Transportation Options

— Recent downtown enhancements offer improved ease of transportation to and from
convention center and after-hours entertainment —

New York, NY, October 2, 2014 — The 137th Audio Engineering Society Convention is set to take place Thursday, October 9, through Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and the AES has put together a dedicated transportation and attractions microsite designed to help attendees make the most of their AES137 Convention experience.  Extensive improvements to the downtown L.A. public transportation system have made the L.A. Convention Center more easily accessible to attendees than ever before. A wealth of bus, train, shuttle and subway options are now available to transport convention attendees to and from the LA Live area, as well as nearby hotels and airports – many with fares starting as low as $1.75. Detailed information about getting to the convention center, as well as local attractions, can be found here, on the convention’s dedicated transportation microsite. Helpful tips for riding the Metro system, as well as a subway map, can be found provided here. Conversely, for those who choose to drive to AES137, the L.A. Convention Center offers convenient underground/adjacent-lot parking, just a short walk from the exhibition floor.

The L.A. Convention center is located in the heart of LA Live – a revitalized and vibrant dining, sports and entertainment district encompassing many popular attractions. LA Live is home to the Staples Center (Lakers basketball and Kings hockey games and numerous concerts each year) and offers nightclubs, over a dozen dining options, a bowling alley, nearby multiplex cinema and, notably, the Nokia Theater and GRAMMY® Museum.  For a photo tour and more information about LA Live, please click here.

The Staples Center and nearby Disney Concert Hall are also included in the AES Convention Technical Tours program. For more information on how to sign up for a technical tour session, please click here.

For information on how you can get your FREE Exhibits-Plus badge (pre-register by October 3), as well as further Registration and Technical Program information, visit the AES137 webpage at http://www.aes.org/events/137/.
