New York, NY, October 22, 2026 — The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing® will present “Grammy SoundTables®: Songs That Changed My Life,” a featured panel discussion at AES Show Nashville 2026, on Saturday, October 31, at 4:00 p.m. CDT on the main stage at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Moderated by multiple Grammy®-nominated producer and engineer Jeff Balding, whose credits include Eagles, Thomas Rhett, Taylor Swift and Shania Twain, the panel will feature Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins (Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga); Alison Brown (Bobby Osborne, Peter Rowan, Claire Lynch); Jordan Hamlin (Indigo Girls, Missy Higgins, Rachael Yamagata); and Chuck Ainlay (George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Dire Straits).
Panelists will examine the songs and recordings that left a lasting impression on their lives, sharing personal stories and insights into how these musical influences continue to inform their creative decisions and approach to recording. From memorable performances and distinctive production techniques to the emotional power of a lyric or arrangement, they will explore the elements that made these tracks resonate. The discussion will offer a personal perspective on how listening experiences can spark new ideas, shape a career and inspire a lifelong passion for making music.
“Some songs top the charts, others become personal favorites, and a few change our lives forever,” stated Jeff Balding. “Our panelists take a closer look at their favorite recordings, exploring what caught their ears, stirred their emotions, and made a lasting impact.”
Graham Kirk, AES Show Nashville Chair, echoed Balding’s thoughts: “We’re thrilled to welcome this audience favorite to AES Show Nashville with a leading lineup of producers and engineers sharing the recordings and experiences that shaped their creative journeys. Exploring the sounds that inspired them gives us a deeper appreciation for how those influences continue to shape the music we make and hear today.”
