Bentley House Recording and Rehearsal Studios join the ranks of Manhattan’s elite music facilities

— William Garrett appointed as Head of Studios and Artist Development —

New York, NY, September 4, 2024 — The Bentley Meeker family of companies announces the foundation of two new state-of-the-art New York City-based music facilities: Bentley House Recording Studios, an elite recording complex in Spanish Harlem; and Bentley House Rehearsal Studio, a fully-equipped rehearsal space located in Midtown West/Hudson Yards. As part of its long-term strategic business plan, William Garrett has been appointed Head of Studios and Artist Development. This announcement was made by founder/principal Bentley Meeker, and further underscores a pivotal moment for the group, whose leadership incorporates flexibility and an insightful understanding of the markets it serves, and continues to expand its footprint in New York City’s entertainment industry.

Bentley House is a recording complex that offers a standalone 10,000-square-foot building with four floors, four discrete state-of-the-art, exceptionally well-equipped Dante® interconnected studios, five bedrooms of top-tier residential accommodations (each bedroom equipped with a laptop production set up), a chef’s kitchen with dining for 12, very large common areas and a private 2200-square-foot artist’s loft with separate entrance, 2400-square-foot roof deck. There is also a private drive-in garage for the ultimate in privacy and security.

Studio A is a traditional studio space with a control room designed by renowned acoustician George Augspurger. Featuring equipment including an API 2448/40 console with a diverse range of dynamics and EQ options, Pro Tools Ultimate with HDX processing, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, an exceptional plugin suite, a selection of premium outboard gear, and a superb microphone collection, the facility is fully prepared to deliver top-tier production quality. Additionally, there is a 1400-square-foot tracking room.

Located in a 2200-square-foot artist suite, Studio B features a Neve 5088/24 console on wheels and a versatile gobo system, allowing flexible configurations. Studio B is equipped with Pro Tools Ultimate, HDX processing, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live 11, and top-notch plugins and outboard gear.

Studios C & D are mobile 32-channel recording rigs on wheels, fully Dante-connected and compactly designed in 20U rolling racks. They can be set up anywhere in minutes, including the roof deck, and connect in real time to Studios A, B, and the rest of the facility for instant recording and final mix-ready takes.

Bentley House Rehearsal Studios is centrally located in Midtown West/Hudson Yards with 6800 square feet of space, also with a drive-in entrance, a separate exclusive entrance, two exclusive elevators and three bathrooms, a green room and a dedicated FOH mix area, along with a 6500-square-foot roof deck with views of the Empire State Building and the Hudson River. Partial equipment list includes: eight-piece Clair 12AMII system with Lake Processing; DiGiCo S21 digital console with 32-channel D-Rack; Heil PR-35 wired microphones; d&b audiotechnik PA system; Adamson Point 8 and Point 115 room playback PA; 200A three-phase electricity with 12 20 amp circuit distribution panel; Yamaha C7 piano; DW Collectors Series six-piece kit; Hughes & Kettner, Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier 150-watt half-stack, and Ampeg SVT-810 bass amplifier; Barefoot MicroMain 27 mix monitors at FOH; and much more.

Artists are able to feel truly at home in either environment and are able to craft their music and their shows with comfort, complete security, anonymity and ease, with the knowledge that every detail has been considered and every aspect of these facilities is of the highest caliber.

“We are delighted to open the doors on these facilities and appoint William Garrett as their chief,” remarks company founder/principal Bentley Meeker. “After more than four years of building and dozens of successful records and show preparations under our belt, we’re excited to introduce both of these projects to the artist community at large. As we do so, William’s expertise, temperament, passion for music, unique understanding of our clientele’s needs, and commitment to excellence fit perfectly with our vision. We strive for these facilities to be centers for bringing culture into the world, and with William on board, we are confident that these labors of love will thrive as two of NYC's most sought-after homes for artistic innovation.

“I am honored to join the Bentley Meeker family and to collaborate with such a talented team,” notes William Garrett. “Bentley House is a one-of-a-kind studio complex, crafted with passion and expertise, and dedicated to artists, producers and engineers and their unique creative process. After making an album here myself, I concluded that these studios are beyond state-of-the-art, with accommodations and common spaces that breed creativity. Their artist-driven mission aligns perfectly with my personal and professional goals. I am thrilled to be part of such a special place.”
