NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 23, 2024 – Give A Note Foundation (GAN), a national nonprofit created to bring awareness to the importance of music and arts education, has announced that SongFarm has entered into an exclusive agreement to join Give A Note. Under this new agreement, Give A Note will absorb all programmatic aspects of SongFarm, thus giving educators and students more opportunity for access to 21st-century music learning tools in schools. F. Reid Shippen and Ross Copperman have also joined the Give A Note Board of Directors.
SongFarm was founded in 2019 by a coalition of musicians, educators and businesses who work collaboratively with the mission of enabling music creation programs in high schools. These studios give students access to professional music equipment at their own schools, in the context of their own classes. They also provide music educators with the equipment and technology that are requisite to teaching students modern skill sets for music and film industries. SongFarm gets music tools to kids in schools.
“SongFarm’s mission dovetailed seamlessly with Give A Note’s,” states Give A Note CEO Dendy Jarrett. “I’ve worked with SongFarm in the past and know co-founders F.Reid Shippen and Ross Copperman’s heart and dedication to music education in the classroom. Their music tech expertise will help us grow student participation for music learning in schools and continue to expand the impact and reach of Give A Note’s programs.”
“The opportunity for Give A Note and SongFarm to come together as one will increase our ability to impact more educators and students with music technology in schools,” says F. Reid Shippen. “We collectively believe in creating better humans through music!”

About Give A Note Foundation:
GIVE A NOTE Foundation is a national 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to engage and empower educators, inspire students, and expand the reach and impact of music education. Founded in 2011 with an initial investment from 21st Century Fox and TV show GLEE, and in cooperation with valued partners including CMA Foundation, Radio Disney and National Association for Music Education, GIVE A NOTE has awarded grants in excess of $1.5 Million in support of music education. GAN’s annual Music Education Innovator Awards (MEIA) recognize teachers who have developed creative, effective in-classroom programs and provides ongoing support to encourage lasting change within a school or district. Ninety-five percent of MEIA grants serve students from underfunded metropolitan and rural K-12 public school districts where funding for music education is deficient. Nationally recognized by music educators as an organization that passionately champions their life’s work, GIVE A NOTE delivers opportunities for students to become their best selves through learning and creating music. #MusicEdMatters
