The textbook for the Novation Launchpad Ableton Live curriculum

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Novation Announces Hal Leonard Ableton Live Curriculum for Novation Launchpad

The NAMM Show, Anaheim, CA, January 19, 2017 – Novation (booth 6464) announces that it has entered into a publishing agreement with Hal Leonard (the leading publisher of books and digital content on the music business, audio technology, and related topics), to offer a comprehensive curriculum covering Novation Launchpad running Ableton Live. The curriculum includes a hard copy edition of a 300-page student textbook and a companion 200-page teacher manual, offering students the skills they need to learn to create electronic music on a Novation Launchpad via Ableton Live.

Phil Wagner, President of Focusrite Novation Inc., stated, “Market research has shown us that many students in the 13-to-18-year-old age bracket are using Novation’s Launchpad with Ableton Live. In order to facilitate the expanded interest, Novation developed this curriculum in conjunction with experienced high school music teachers over the past two years, to provide both students and teachers the right tools to master the powerful Ableton Live platform running on our popular Launchpad products.”

For teachers and students, Hal Leonard will be offering the hard copy editions either by themselves or bundled with a Novation Launchpad and Launchkey controller. Hal Leonard will be offering an online interactive version of the course and supplemental materials, and Novation will also be offering downloadable PDF versions of the handbooks.

John Cerullo, Group Publisher of Hal Leonard Books, states, “We are extremely happy to be working directly with Focusrite to bring this exceptional curriculum to market, and it underscores Hal Leonard’s expansion into the educational marketplace with this type of product.”

Wagner continues, “We are happy to see this project finally come to fruition, and to have this hard-copy curriculum available to not only the Hal Leonard resellers network, but also talented teachers and students nationwide. Considering the widespread reduction of funding for music in the schools and the advent of electronic music making, we’re happy that more students and more teachers will be able to get this very valuable tool in their hands, enabling learning at a much higher level.”

About Novation
Novation make gear for you to play, create and perform music. We started out making high-end synths, and expanded into designing totally new music making tools. Novation products are designed by musician/producers who use the gear they design every day, and are always looking for fresh ideas. This is the reason bedroom producers and A-list artists alike use our hardware: because it has been designed by and for musicians. From the recording studio to the DJ booth, our equipment is freeing musicians to create and perform with their own workflow, rather than ours.
