RF Venue expands Diversity Antenna series options

— Exclusive patented technologies in RF Venue® Diversity Antennas – true diversity from a single package and mounting location plus cross-polarized, dropout-free reception – are now available in three models: the Diversity Fin®, Diversity Omni™ and Architectural Diversity™ Antennas —

InfoComm, Orlando, FL, June 14, 2023 — With the introduction of its Diversity Fin Antenna, RF Venue ushered in a radical departure from conventional wireless microphone antenna design and deployment – true-diversity performance from a single mounting location by way of an antenna package that integrates dual antenna elements. The design philosophy was extended with the introduction of the Diversity Omni Antenna for applications where wider reception is preferred over directionality and antenna gain. And now, for fixed installations where aesthetics are important, RF Venue has folded the elements of the Diversity Fin Antenna into a low-profile housing that can be installed on a wall or ceiling to deliver invisible performance – the Architectural Diversity Antenna.

“RF Venue is committed to developing and applying technologies that solve our customers’ wireless audio issues,” says RF Venue Chief Innovation Officer Chris Regan. “The patented technologies in our Diversity Antenna series not only address that goal but also, with a single mounting point and single package, reduce installation complexity, which saves time and money. As needs for reception directionality and antenna visibility vary from application to application, we have incorporated the design approach into three different models to accommodate those varied needs.”

When more than one channel of wireless microphone is in use and receivers co-located, the common “antenna farm” of small, chassis-mounted whip antennas can quickly create issues. Conventional wireless microphone external antenna setups require mounting a pair of antennas to achieve diversity performance. The patented technology of the RF Venue Diversity Fin Antenna incorporates, in a single package, a vertical LDPA “paddle” element for reception of vertically polarized signals and a dipole antenna in an orthogonal (right angle) orientation for horizontally polarized signals, ensuring dropout-free performance, regardless of the angle a wireless microphone transmitter is being held or worn relative to the antenna. The Diversity Architectural Antenna delivers that same directional cross polarized diversity reception in its low-profile housing that can be painted to match any interior for a nearly invisible visual appearance.  Cross polarized, omnidirectional reception is delivered by the Diversity Omni Antenna.

“The technologies exclusively available in our Diversity Antennas series are what put RF Venue on the map as global leader in wireless audio,” says Regan. “For a total solution to wireless issues, our line of essential RF accessories for wireless audio also includes a full range of antenna distribution systems, which even deliver DC operating power to wireless microphone systems while eliminating wall warts. Our in-line filter line reduces out-of-band interference from sources like 5G mobile phones and other RF hash before receiver inputs. We offer antenna amplification for long cable runs, or conversion to fiber optic signals for extremely long runs. We also have transmitter combiner and antenna solutions for wireless in-ear monitor systems and complete turnkey systems for mic and IEM systems. RF Venue can help optimize the performance of any wireless audio system regardless of brand or model, and we ship from stock.”
