Local Chapters Gear Up for April 2016 Events


Upcoming Events Include GRAMMY Pro® Studio Summit in Dallas April 6, GRAMMY Pro Up Close & Personal in Atlanta April 7 and a GRAMMY Pro Studio Summit in New Orleans April 26


Santa Monica, Calif. (April 1, 2016) — As part of ongoing initiatives regarding sound quality, studio methodology and professional development, The Recording Academy® local Chapters and Producers & Engineers Wing® are presenting a number of recording-related events throughout April 2016.

On Wednesday, April 6, the Texas Chapter and the P&E Wing will host the GRAMMY Pro® Studio Summit in Dallas, TX. Taking place from 3:30 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. CDT, the Summit will feature GRAMMY®-winning engineer/mixer Tony Maserati (Black Eyed Peas, Mary J. Blige, Gwen Stefani) and GRAMMY-, OSCAR- and Golden Globe-nominated producer Harvey Mason, Jr. (Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé); also current P&E Wing Co-Chair). The Texas event will take place in the heart of downtown Dallas at the W Hotel's Altitude Ballroom. Maserati and Mason will share techniques, track samples, inspirations and thoughts on current industry hot topics, followed by a moderated audience Q&A. Rounding out the summit will be a panel, led by P&E Wing Managing Director Maureen Droney, addressing key music advocacy issues that affect producers and engineers. Capping the day will be a networking mixer and complimentary appetizers. This event is open to Recording Academy members and invited music industry professionals only. Admission is free for Recording Academy members and members receive priority seating. Invited non-members are $50. RSVP HERE. On Thursday, April 7, the Atlanta Chapter and the P&E Wing will host GRAMMY Pro Up Close & Personal with GRAMMY-nominated producer Butch Walker (Pink, Katy Perry, Weezer) and GRAMMY-winning producer Dave Cobb (Shooter Jennings, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton). This intimate evening will feature a private cocktail and dinner reception and an exclusive on-stage conversation between these two sought-after recording industry VIPs. The event will begin promptly at 7 p.m., at the W Hotel – Atlanta-Buckhead, 3377 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30326. RSVP by April 4 HERE.

On Tuesday, April 26, the Memphis Chapter and the P&E Wing will present another GRAMMY Pro Studio Summit at Esplanade Studios in New Orleans. The Summit will feature a keynote conversation with legendary GRAMMY-winning recording engineer Geoff Emerick (Beatles, America, Cheap Trick, Elvis Costello), panel discussions on industry hot topics, and product demonstrations from a variety of gear manufacturers. GRAMMY-winning recording engineer Elliot Scheiner will also serve as Event Chair and a featured speaker, including demonstrations of the ELS Studio Premium Audio system developed by Scheiner himself.
