PARTNERSHIP MARKS 15 YEARS OF COLLABORATION AS IRON MOUNTAIN CELEBRATES ITS 75TH ANNIVERSARY SAFEGUARDING AND MANAGING VALUABLE INFORMATION AND ASSETS WORLDWIDE
SANTA MONICA, CALIF., SEPT. 2, 2026 — The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing® has renewed its longstanding partnership with Iron Mountain, marking the 15th anniversary of the organizations’ collaboration focused on advancing best practices for the preservation, protection and management of the recording industry’s creative assets.
The partnership milestone comes during another significant anniversary for Iron Mountain, which is celebrating 75 years of helping organizations around the world safeguard and manage their valuable information. Together, the two anniversaries underscore a shared commitment to protecting creative legacies and ensuring that important recorded works remain preserved and accessible for generations to come.
As an official P&E Wing Sustaining Partner, Iron Mountain’s Media and Archival Services division will continue to provide expertise and support for the Wing’s ongoing educational and professional initiatives. The Media and Archival Services team also serves as a member of the P&E Wing Manufacturer Council, working alongside leaders from across the professional audio community to address issues affecting today’s recording industry.
Central to the 15-year relationship has been a shared commitment to raising awareness about the importance of properly preserving recorded assets and ensuring that valuable creative works remain accessible for future generations. As recording and production technologies continue to evolve, and as the industry manages increasingly complex collections of physical and digital assets, preservation, metadata, accessibility, and long-term asset management have become increasingly important considerations for creators and rights holders.
The Media and Archival Services division remains at the forefront of these efforts, offering archival and preservation solutions designed for the unique requirements of media and entertainment collections. Its capabilities include specialized media recovery and preservation technologies, digital repository solutions, and systems designed to help organizations better identify, manage and access the contents of their archives.
Throughout their 15-year partnership, the organizations have worked together on education, industry events and outreach related to archiving, preservation and restoration. Iron Mountain subject matter experts have contributed their knowledge to P&E Wing technical guidelines and recommendations, helping provide the recording community with practical information for protecting valuable creative assets and intellectual property. These collaborations have brought together producers, engineers, artists, and technology leaders to exchange knowledge and address issues shaping the future of recorded music.
