RCF professional sound system delivers clarity and musicality for Scottsdale Jazz Festival Premiere Party

Piscataway, NJ, May 27, 2026 – RCF professional loudspeakers recently powered the Scottsdale Jazz Festival Premiere Party, an upscale outdoor celebration held April 4, 2026, at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. Sound reinforcement for the event was provided by Phoenix-based Wave Maker Concepts, LLC, led by principal owner Sal Davi, a longtime RCF user and live sound provider.

Serving as the kickoff to Jazz Appreciation Month, the Scottsdale Jazz Festival Premiere Party brought together music fans for an evening of live performances under the desert sky. Organized by the International Jazz Day AZ Foundation and hosted by foundation founder/Executive Director and legendary jazz saxophonist/educator Dr. William “Doc” Jones, the event featured an eclectic lineup including Carmela Ramirez, Cold Shot & The Hurricane Horns and Eloni Yawn, blending jazz, Latin, blues and contemporary influences throughout the night.

To support the approximately 800 attendees and diverse musical performances, Wave Maker Concepts deployed a sound reinforcement system composed of four RCF HDL 28-A active line array modules per side with two RCF SUB 9006-AS subwoofers providing low-frequency reinforcement. Additional coverage was handled by RCF ART 912-A loudspeakers used as side fills, while RCF NX 915-A monitors were deployed onstage for performers. Front-of-house mixing was handled on a PreSonus StudioLive console.

“We talked about multiple designs and multiple speaker systems, different acoustics and different brands, but when it came down to hearing the differences between the systems, they decided to go with the RCFs,” said Sal Davi, principal owner of Wave Maker Concepts. “The clarity, the bass and the mids were a perfect mix for the way jazz and blues music is supposed to sound.”

According to Davi, the system’s balanced tonal response, vocal intelligibility and consistent coverage throughout the venue allowed engineers to move seamlessly between multiple performers and musical genres with very little adjustment required during the evening. From subtle jazz arrangements and horn sections to more energetic R&B and Latin performances, the RCF system maintained clarity, warmth and musical detail across the entire frequency spectrum while delivering even coverage for attendees throughout the outdoor event space.

“There were horns and other elements, covering multiple styles of music, and the clarity of all the different instruments was phenomenal,” Davi added. “People kept commenting on how natural and present everything sounded, and the artists were blown away by the monitor performance. Whether someone was sitting close to the stage or walking around the venue, the sound stayed consistent and musical. That’s one of the things I really appreciate about the RCF systems: they reproduce the performance the way it’s supposed to be heard without having to over-process or constantly having to tweak the system throughout the night.”
