FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Viola Audio Laboratories Debuts Its Sonata Preamplifier and Showcases
Its Concerto Amplifier at CES 2014

INTERNATIONAL CES, LAS VEGAS, NV, January 7, 2014 Viola Audio Laboratories is exhibiting its product line at CES 2014 at Viola’s exhibit space, Venetian Tower - Suite 30-231, Las Vegas, NV (January 7 – 10, 2014). Notably, Viola is expanding its Reference series with the debut of the Sonata stereo preamplifier, which incorporates a host of design and engineering advancements to convey music with remarkable fidelity and emotional involvement. In addition, Viola will be showcasing its Concerto stereo power amplifier, which is currently shipping, as well as a variety of other models in their product line.

Sonata Stereo Preamplifier
Designed with the premier audiophile in mind, the high-performance, reference-quality Sonata preamplifier’s two-chassis construction separates the audio-signal path from the power supply to ensure maximum sonic purity. Music emerges from a “black,” quiet background with high resolution and transparency. Like all Viola Reference series audio components, the Sonata has a clean appearance with no front-panel controls other than a multi-function control knob and a color touchscreen display housed in Viola’s signature recessed center section. The preamp is operated via Wi-Fi remote control using an iPod Touch, iPad or Android®-based app, and an optional IR remote is available.

The Sonata accommodates a variety of analog and digital sources including the direct digital audio output from a computer using the optional onboard DAC, with three balanced XLR inputs, three RCA unbalanced inputs, a USB input that can accommodate up to 192kHz/24-bit data streams without the need for additional hardware, and its RCA unbalanced and S/PDIF digital inputs. The Sonata’s RS232 output can be used to connect to third party home integration systems (e.g. Crestron, Control4, AMX, etc.).

Sonata Inputs and outputs include:
Analog
3 XLR balanced and 3 RCA inputs
1 balanced XLR and 1 RCA output
1 Fixed (tape) output

Digital
1 USB DAC
1 SPDIF COAX
1 AES Balanced

Communication
1 +12V Trigger output
1 RS-232 Port
1 USB Master for software updates
2 Viola LinkBus Network Connectors

The Sonata reflects the central objective of the Viola brand, which is to produce products that are sonically neutral, as the founders’ experience has shown that only through sonic neutrality can the listener experience the essential emotion that is at the heart of music. Sonata will match well with Viola’s Symphony Power Amplifier or the Viola’s legendary Legacy Class A power amplifier.

The Viola Audio Laboratories Sonata stereo preamplifier will be available in mid-2014 at a suggested retail price of $35,000.

Concerto Stereo Power Amplifier
The Concerto stereo power amplifier has been designed for the audio enthusiast with a professional lifestyle. Its unibody chassis is machined from a single billet of T606 aircraft-grade aluminum and is styled to match Viola’s Crescendo preamplifier, with a front panel accented by a trapezoidal touch-sensitive control surface housed in an angular center recess. Like the Sonata, the Concerto features Viola’s signature satin silver-gray anodized finish.

The Concerto sports a Class AB-biased push-pull design based on Motorola ThermalTrak™ transistors and incorporates innovative engineering and premium-quality parts throughout including WBT nextgen™ connectors. The Concerto can be connected to the Crescendo preamplifier using Viola’s exclusive LinkBus connector for perfectly synchronized operation between the two components. The Concerto was the winner of the prestigious 2013 Stereo Sound Grand Prix award.

The Concerto is currently available at a suggested retail price of $22,500.
