AUDIO-TECHNICA SELECTED AS THE
OFFICIAL HEADPHONE SUPPLIER FOR THE NEW GRAMMY MUSEUM
— Over 60 pairs of ATH-M30 Headphones were utilized for the museum’s
exhibits —
STOW, OH, December 29, 2008 — Audio-Technica,
a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 45 years, has
been selected as the official headphone supplier for the recently-opened
GRAMMY Museum (SM)
in Los Angeles. More than 60 pairs of ATH-M30 Closed-back Dynamic Stereo
Monitor Headphones have been selected for use in the museum’s
exhibits because of their sonic accuracy, comfortable design, operational
endurance and rugged construction.
The 30,000-square-foot facility celebrated its grand opening
with a slate of activities December 3-6, 2008, the culmination of The
Recording Academy®’s and the GRAMMY® Awards’ milestone
50th anniversary year. The museum is located within L.A. LIVE, the downtown
Los Angeles sports, entertainment and residential district, and across
the street from the STAPLES Center, the venue where the 51st Annual
GRAMMY Awards telecast will take place on February 9, 2009.
“We are thrilled to be working with Audio-Technica,”
said Robert Santelli, Executive Director of The GRAMMY Museum. “The
ATH-M30 Headphones will allow visitors to The GRAMMY Museum to experience
our exhibits in a richer and more exciting way.”
The GRAMMY Museum has been established to explore and
celebrate the enduring legacies of all forms of music, the creative
process, the art and technology of the recording process and the history
of the premier recognition of excellence in recorded music – the
GRAMMY Award. The museum features interactive, permanent and traveling
exhibits, with four floors of dynamic and engaging multimedia presentations.
Audio-Technica is an integral part of the museum’s interactive
content, as the majority of the exhibits in the self-guided museum tour
involve a meticulously chosen soundtrack, which attendees will hear
through the Audio-Technica
ATH-M30 Headphones.
The GRAMMY Museum experience features educational and
public programs designed to engage young people, students, music fans,
industry professionals and more. Events to be offered include music
classes for children, mentoring and question-and-answer sessions with
visiting artists, lectures by music industry veterans, film screenings,
and concert series and artist showcases, among others. Additionally,
the museum has developed partnerships with local colleges and universities
to offer programs for students working toward a career in music.
“It is an honor to have A-T chosen as the headphone
of choice for the audio exhibits at the GRAMMY Museum,” stated
Gary Boss, Audio-Technica Marketing Manager. “Each year, Audio-Technica
microphones are featured at the annual GRAMMY Awards Show, so to be
part of this permanent exhibit reinforces and enhances our association
with leading industry visionaries and standard bearers.”
