Audio-Technica introduces its new top-of-the line ATH-ADX7000 open-air audiophile headphones
Stow, OH, October 24, 2025 — Audio-Technica announces the introduction of its ATH-ADX7000 Open-Air Dynamic Headphones, the company’s new top-of-the-line open-back model. The ATH-ADX7000 boasts new HXDT driver technology and an incredibly lightweight design to deliver a remarkably natural, spacious and comfortable high-end listening experience.
Meticulously crafted in Japan, the ATH-ADX7000 employs Audio-Technica’s newly developed HXDT driver design, which uses an innovative molding process that produces a large-diameter 58mm diaphragm with precise concentricity, for clear and detailed musical reproduction. The diaphragm is aligned with the driver’s baffle plate, magnet and voice coil with extreme accuracy, allowing energy to transfer more efficiently from the magnet to the diaphragm, which can also move with greater freedom for more powerful bass and dynamic impact. The driver unit is optimally positioned within its housing using Audio-Technica’s Core Mount Technology, which places the driver’s voice coil in the middle of its housing to achieve the purest motion – and sound – possible.
The headphones’ aluminum housings have an open honeycomb design that enables more efficient airflow and yields powerful, articulate bass while preserving midrange and high-frequency purity. The housings and magnesium-alloy frame contribute to the ATH-ADX7000’s extremely light weight – 270 grams with the supplied Alcantara microfiber earpads, and 275 with the also-included velvet earpads. In addition, the magnesium-alloy frame helps to dampen unwanted vibrations that could reduce detail and cause sonic coloration.
The ATH-ADX7000 comes with two detachable 3.0m (9.8 foot) cables with Audio-Technica’s A2DC (Audio Designed Detachable Cables): a balanced cable with a 4-pin XLRM connector, and an unbalanced cable with a 0.25-inch (6.3mm) plug. Each ATH-ADX7000 is individually serialized and comes with a hard carrying case.
The Audio-Technica ATH-ADX7000 Open-Air Dynamic Headphones will be available on October 31, 2025, at a suggested US retail price of $3,499.
