AUDIO-TECHNICA REAFFIRMS SPONSORSHIP OF
JOHN LENNON EDUCATIONAL TOUR BUS
— Leading microphone manufacturer extends relationship with three-year
commitment to supplying support to beloved non-profit music education
organization —
SUMMER NAMM SHOW, NASHVILLE, TN, June 20, 2008
— Audio-Technica, worldwide leader in high-performance microphones,
wireless systems, headphones and other professional-caliber audio equipment,
has recently renewed its sponsorship of the John Lennon Educational
Tour Bus, a non-profit state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia
studio. As part of its ongoing commitment, Audio-Technica will continue
to serve as the official microphone provider of the Tour Bus, supplying
a complete line of A-T microphone products for use on the Bus itself
(including 40 Series, Artist Elite, Audio-Technica Wireless and other
key A-T products and accessories). In addition, A-T will be contributing
to the prize packages of the related John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus travels around the
U.S. throughout the year. Outfitted with traditional musical instruments
as well as high-tech professional audio and video gear, the Bus has
provided free hands-on programs since 1998 for hundreds of high schools,
colleges, Boys and Girls Clubs, music festivals, concerts, conferences
and community organizations. Working together with some of the biggest
names in music, the Lennon Bus provides free workshops for young people
in which they learn to write and record songs, engineer recording sessions
and produce a broadcast quality music video – which they take
home at the end of the day – using the latest audio, video and
live sound equipment. Chart-topping artists, including The Black Eyes
Peas, Fergie and Mos Def, to name a few, have even used the Bus for
recording hit singles. To mark the 11th year of the John Lennon Educational
Bus Tour, a newly upgraded bus was recently introduced, employing the
very newest technology and gear from A-T and other leading manufacturers,
including Digidesign, Apple and more.
“We are proud to renew our commitment to the John
Lennon Educational Tour Bus and Songwriting Contest,” said Gary
Boss, Audio-Technica Marketing Director. “It is thrilling to be
involved with an organization so dedicated to educating young people
on music and technology.”
Brian Rothschild, Executive Director of the John Lennon
Songwriting Contest and Educational Tour Bus, commented, “We thank
Audio-Technica and all of our other sponsors for making what we do possible.
Without them, we could not tour the U.S. and Canada ten months out of
the year, giving the endlessly rewarding gifts of music to our nation’s
future.” The Bus is currently appearing at Milwaukee’s Summerfest
Music Festival and will travel with the Vans Warped Tour throughout
the summer. For more information, please visit www.lennonbus.org,
