JASON ALDEAN TOURS WITH A
FULL LINE-UP OF AUDIO-TECHNICA MICROPHONES
NAMM SUMMER SESSION, AUSTIN, TX, July 27, 2007 —
Jason Aldean’s self-titled debut album conveys the depth of sound
and character that one might expect from a veteran performer. In fact,
this country breakthrough artist has been playing clubs since age 14,
and after relocating from Georgia to Nashville at age 21, Aldean spent
6 years honing his skills as a songwriter and shopping for the right
record deal. His persistence paid off. Aldean has made a name for himself
not only in Nashville, but on the touring circuit as well, scoring the
top-10 hits “Hicktown” and “Amarillo Sky,” and
the chart-topping “Why.” His sophomore project, Relentless
(Broken Bow Records), raised the bar even higher, with the lead song
and critically acclaimed first single, “Johnny Cash,” a
song evoking the take-no-prisoners attitude of the Man in Black. The
album flew up the charts with overwhelming response from country radio.
In June, “Johnny Cash” hit #1 on CMT’s Top 20 Countdown.
Catering to the demands of his fans, Aldean played over
200 shows in 2006, and has a busy touring schedule for 2007 in support
of Relentless. Aldean, an Audio-Technica endorser, explains A-T’s
part in getting his sound across faithfully in the live arena: “It’s
easy to go out and play every night when you know the equipment you
are using sounds great and is always reliable.”
Front of House Engineer and Production Manager Chris Torri
comments on his experience implementing the A-T line-up on the road
with Aldean, “These are absolutely the best mixes of my life,
and the only thing that’s changed is the microphones.” He
adds, “The AEW-T5400 [handheld microphone/transmitter] on Jason’s
vocals is so clean it’s in your face. It gives you all the body
you want without overemphasizing any of the high end. I couldn’t
be happier. Audio-Technica has the best customer service, and the product
is unbelievable.”
An impressive complement of A-T microphones accompanies
Aldean on tour. The Artist Elite® 5000 Series Frequency-agile True
Diversity UHF Wireless System is used with the AEW-T5400 handheld mic/transmitter
on Aldean’s vocals. Audio-Technica’s AE4100 is used for
backup vocals. Guitar rigs utilize both the AT4047/SV and AT4050. The
AT4033/CL is on bass and hi hat; the dual-element AE2500 handles kick-drum
duties; the ATM23HE is on rack tom as well as top and bottom snare;
the ATM25 captures floor toms; and the AT4033 is on overhead and ride.
The Artist Elite 4000 Series Wireless System is used with UniPak™
transmitters for all guitar and bass.
