AUDIO-TECHNICA COVERS VENUES FROM OPERA TO SPORTS
WITH ARTIST ELITE® 5000 SERIES WIRELESS SYSTEMS
— Lexington’s Rupp Arena and Opera House install
28 channels of 5000 Series wireless to make their debut this fall —
NSCA EXPO, ORLANDO, FL — Audio-Technica,
a leader in the design and manufacture of consumer and professional
microphones, wireless systems, headphones and accessories for over 45
years, is pleased to announce that two major venues in the city of Lexington,
KY, are now fully equipped with a total of 28 channels of Audio-Technica’s
Artist Elite® 5000 Series wireless microphone systems. The Rupp
Arena, home to the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team,
as well as a multipurpose venue hosting music concerts, corporate meetings
and other events, has had its wireless capability thoroughly updated
with the addition of 14 channels of Artist Elite 5000 Series wireless.
The Lexington Opera House, which has been hosting operatic and dramatic
performances since 1886, also has been newly equipped with 14 channels
of the 5000 Series. MSI Production Services, a systems integrator and
Audio-Technica dealer in Lexington, sold the 5000 Series wireless systems.
“We’re very pleased with what we’ve
seen and heard so far,” says Bob Stoops, Technical Services Manager
for Lexington Center, Inc., the company that owns and operates both
venues. He continues, “Both of these venues have numerous touring
productions coming through them all year long, so we get a great opportunity
to listen to various systems, evaluate them in the venue itself, and
talk to the mixers and technicians who run them. We were impressed with
the way the 5000 Series systems sounded, and they got great reviews
from the people who used them.”
Stoops praises the 5000 Series’ feature set, particularly
the built-in IntelliScan™ capability that automatically determines
and sets the best available frequencies on all linked receivers. “That’s
a huge benefit in this city and these venues, where a lot of other wireless
is constantly operating,” he notes. “We can scan right up
until before a show in case something changes at the last minute.”
But the sound sealed the deal, say both Stoops and Sam White, Owner
of MSI Production Services. “A combination of their frequency
band capabilities and their great sound was why we encouraged the customer
to go for the Artist Elite 5000 Series,” remarks White, who also
noted that they performed flawlessly on their first use at the Rupp
Arena for the University’s “Big Blue Madness” basketball
broadcast. “The sound, the performance and the price were all
a good fit and a good value for both venues,” confirms Stoops.
Designed for use on professional tours, in stadiums, concert
halls, houses of worship and other demanding audio environments, Audio-Technica’s
dual-receiver Artist Elite 5000 Series provides incredible audio quality
and proven, critically acclaimed performance for artists, broadcasters
and presenters worldwide. With two independent true diversity receivers
in a single full-rack housing, the 5000 Series conserves rack space
while providing outstandingly reliable and flexible performance. Two
hundred selectable channels are offered in each of two available UHF
bands. Receivers may be linked to form a complete system in which the
built-in IntelliScan capability automatically determines and sets the
best available frequencies on all linked receivers. Equipped with Ethernet
ports, the 5000 Series receiver allows computer management and control
(software included). Multiple system configurations are available, with
handheld vocal microphone/transmitters and UniPak™ body-pack transmitters
designed for use with lavalier, headworn and instrument microphones
as well as electric guitars.
