Bose® L1® Systems Used in the REVERB Eco-Village as Part of the “Last Summer on Earth” Tour

Framingham, Massachusetts, November 21, 2013 – Based in Portland, Maine, REVERB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2004 by environmentalist Lauren Sullivan and her musician husband, Adam Gardner of Guster. REVERB provides comprehensive, custom greening programs for music tours while conducting grassroots outreach and education with fans around the globe. In addition to their greening work with bands and artists, REVERB also works to move forward the sustainable practices of music industry leaders, including venues, record labels, and radio stations. On a recent package tour featuring Barenaked Ladies, Guster and Ben Folds Five, REVERB created an Eco-Village that helped raise awareness for their greening efforts and engaged fans to participate in local and global environmental causes. The Village included a solar-powered stage that featured special “pop-up” performances by select members of the bands with sound provided exclusively by L1® Systems from Bose® Professional Systems.

Craig Jackson, Product Line Manager, Portable Systems, Bose Professional, stated, “Adam Gardner approached us and explained the side stage – the REVERB ‘pop-up stage,’ as they call it – and asked if we would be interested in being involved. We decided to support the event, because it is such a worthwhile cause. The interesting thing about the pop-up stage is that you have these gigantic rock stars, who are used to playing for thousands on the main stage, playing acoustically in a much more intimate setting. They play songs that aren’t in their main sets – cover songs, deep cuts and other fun things. It’s very off-the-cuff and informal, and the hardcore fans just love it. It’s a fantastic way for REVERB to spread their message and give the fans a treat in the process. And the bands sound great through the L1 modules. We love that they are playing through our gear, and the response we have gotten from the artists and the fans has been nothing but positive.”

Adam Gardner, co-founder of REVERB and member of Guster, stated, “We came out every night on the REVERB pop-up stage and performed on the L1 systems. I was amazed at how natural they sounded for both vocals and acoustic guitars and so were all of the other musicians! We loved it! The crew loved the fast setup and tear down and most importantly the fans loved the sound!”
