Bose® Professional Audio Systems’ PowerMatch®
PM8500/8500N Configurable Power Amplifier Selected as
WFX 2012 New Product Technology Award Winner

Framingham, Massachusetts, September 19, 2012 – Bose® Professional Systems Division is proud to announce that its PowerMatch® PM8500/8500N Configurable Power Amplifier has been selected as the recipient of a WFX 2012 New Product Technology Award, in the category of “Best Amplifier.” Winners were announced on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at the WFX convention in Atlanta.

New Product Technology Awards, presented by Church Production Magazine, Worship Facilities Magazine, and Worship Facility Designer, are the most comprehensive Audio, Video, Lighting, and New Media product awards in the house of worship market. These products are recognized for their innovation and application for churches of all sizes and styles.

Morten Jorgensen, Sr. Manager of the Americas Professional Systems Division, states, “We are extremely honored to be acknowledged by the editors and industry professionals on the selection committee for the WFX New Product Technology Awards. Of course, we don’t design products with awards in mind, but it is nonetheless very satisfying to be recognized by our peers and industry experts for our hard work. When you bring products to market that solve fundamental problems – focusing on things like rugged construction, power, efficiency, sound quality, reliability and connectivity – people cannot help but notice. We are proud of the PM8500/8500N Amplifier, as we are of our entire Professional Systems product line, and again it is an honor to be acknowledged by the WFX Awards.”

The Bose PowerMatch® PM8500 is a highly configurable professional power amplifier delivering concert sound quality for fixed-installation sound reinforcement systems. It allows the user to power speakers from one eight-channel amplifier, or multiple amplifiers networked together, and deliver sound to the main worship center, foyers, lobby areas, cry rooms, and other ancillary areas. Building on the ruggedness proven by 20 years experience building Class D power amplifiers for the automotive market, the PM8500 adds numerous new Bose patented technologies to simultaneously provide class-leading power, efficiency, sound quality and reliability. The PM8500N adds Ethernet connectivity for network control and monitoring of multiple “N” version amplifiers using ControlSpace® Designer. The PowerMatch Amplifier is designed to work with both RoomMatch® array modules and other professional loudspeakers and can allocate its 4000-Watt rated power between two and eight channels, all from a standard wall outlet. The Bose PowerMatch PM8500 Amplifier provides sound designers with unprecedented scalability and configurability for houses of worship and nearly any fixed installation sound system application.
