GC PRO GETS THE SSL AWS 900+ INTO THE
RIGHT HANDS AT THE RIGHT TIMES

— From podcasts to fashion, GC Pro helps new audio business start-ups
get off the ground and up and running —

121st AES CONVENTION, SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 6, 2006 — GC Pro, the outside sales division of Guitar Center, Inc. (Nasdaq: GTRC) that focuses on the needs of professional users, has become famous for its ability to efficiently match the right equipment to the artist, producer and engineer. That’s exactly what new users of the SSL AWS 900+ Analogue Workstation System have experienced.

At E Labs Mobile, the mobile recording division of E Labs Multimedia, the year-old start-up studio in Madison, Wisconsin, partner Jack LeTourneau turned to GC Pro as the information resource he needed to determine the best new technology platforms for their new two-suite studio and remote truck. “We bought all of the equipment for both the studios and the truck from GC Pro, including a 24-channel SSL AWS 900+ and a selection of API and Summit Audio preamps,” says LeTourneau, who has targeted regional concert and broadcast markets, as well as foreign record labels and podcasts to create a swath of niches to service, and now provides the only mobile truck using an SSL board in the world. “I had done a lot of the research on the equipment myself, but Dan Scalpone, my account manager at GC Pro, took research to another level, contacting manufacturers’ reps for more detailed information and even getting me a meeting in Las Vegas with [SSL Chairman] Peter Gabriel. They also were able to provide incredible pricing, which is critical to launching a new business venture. GC Pro is as much a partner to me as an equipment supplier.”

Bobby Bruce Levy has taken a long career in music — he was the first American recording artist signed to The Beatles’ Apple label in the 1960s and produced by George Martin — and adapted it to a successful fashion marketing career, including work with such youthful and music-conscious brands as Candie’s. He is also involved in integrating all of those talents into the new landscape of music for download. To create a state-of-the-art personal recording studio in Tarzan, California, Levy called upon the resources of GC Pro, which helped him select and install a new SSL AWS 900+. “The new triumvirate of home recording technology, the Internet and new business models in all industries — music and fashion included — has created new synergies,” Levy remarks. “GC Pro helps me choose the music recording technologies that help me move my business interests forward. They’re incredibly pleasant to deal with, knowledgeable and they make the whole purchasing process smooth.”

These are the kinds of situations at which GC Pro excels — providing the service, support and knowledge that allow people and companies to focus on building their businesses.
