GUITAR CENTER PROFESSIONAL HOSTS WAVES EVENT WITH
LEGENDARY PRODUCER/ENGINEER EDDIE KRAMER

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, July 9, 2008 — As part of its unparalleled commitment to providing customers with ongoing technology and enhancement opportunities, Guitar Center Professional (GC Pro), the outside sales division of Guitar Center that focuses on the needs of professional users, hosted an event with legendary producer/engineer Eddie Kramer at its Hallandale, FL location last month. The session was co-sponsored by world-leading DSP specialists Waves and was part of Waves on Tour’s “Studio Classics Collection Experience,” an ongoing series of educational events featuring Kramer and Waves Product Specialists discussing, demonstrating and celebrating Waves’ Studio Classics Collection.

The session hosted a capacity crowd featuring a wide range of attendees, from students to music business professionals, to hobbyists and rock aficionados. The event included a pre-lecture slide show from Kramer’s personal photo library (showcasing his own candid shots of Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin, among others), offering a rare glimpse into the personalities and creative minds who have shaped the history of rock. As the event began, Waves personnel discussed invaluable practical applications of digital signal processing products, and Kramer led a fascinating deconstruction of one of his actual recent tracking sessions with a London rock act, letting the audience see the Waves Studio Classics Collection at work firsthand, applied to raw tracks. Kramer then fielded questions, enlightening and entertaining the crowd with anecdotes and priceless studio secrets from his half century-long career working with such legendary acts as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Kiss, David Bowie and more.

Mark Ruffolo, GC Pro account manager, stated, “This event was a fascinating trip through the present and future of DSP technology and how it links to vintage analog gear – looking forward while helping preserve a piece of rock history. Eddie Kramer is an obvious expert on both ends of that spectrum, giving our attendees indelible insight into the craft. GC Pro takes immense pride in offering these opportunities to expose our customers and friends to top industry professionals.”
