FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GC PRO AND EUPHONIX ANNOUNCE U.S. “BREAK FREE TOUR” TO SHOWCASE
MC AND SYSTEM 5-MC DAW CONTROLLERS
— Euphonix “Break Free” tour truck to visit GC Pro
stores in the U.S. —
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, July 12, 2006 — GC
Pro, the dedicated professional audio division of Guitar Center, Inc.
(Nasdaq: GTRC), America’s leading musical instrument and professional
audio retailer, and Euphonix are pleased to announce a U.S. tour featuring
the MC and System 5-MC DAW controllers at key GC Pro store locations.
The Euphonix “Break Free” tour truck has been outfitted
with a System 5-MC controlling Pro Tools®, Logic Pro, Nuendo and
Digital Performer so that GC Pro customers can get hands-on demonstrations
on this revolutionary new controller.
GC Pro is the exclusive distributor of the Euphonix MC
Media Application Controller in the U.S. and also sells the System 5-MC
Integrated DAW Mixing System. New York and Hollywood stores feature
a System 5-MC, and MCs can be found at the Miami, Las Vegas, Atlanta
and Chicago stores. The tour, which kicked off to a successful start
with three days at GC Pro’s Houston location in early July, takes
these products to other stores in the GC Pro network including New Orleans,
Orlando, Miami, Atlanta and Nashville. Further dates will be announced
on the gcpro.com and euphonix.com web sites as the tour progresses.
The MC is a new controller from Euphonix that includes
4 faders, 8 knobs, 56 LCD SmartSwitches, shuttle wheel and monitoring
section. The MC features the EuCon protocol which allows it to control
any PC or Mac® software application. EuCon supports both HUI and
Mackie Control for applications such as Pro Tools and Final Cut Pro.
Applications such as Apple’s Logic Pro, Steinberg’s Nuendo
and Merging’s Pyramix all directly support EuCon for the ultimate
in controller-application integration. The System 5-MC adds Euphonix
System 5 channel strips to the MC for professional music and audio post
mixing applications.
Dave Hansen, Euphonix VP Strategic Accounts, has been
working with GC Pro to coordinate sales efforts: “We are delighted
that GC Pro is representing us in the U.S. for these unique and exciting
new products; it allows us to reach a much wider group of clients. The
joint Euphonix GC Pro Break Free tour takes this to another level and
allows a broader range of GC Pro customers to experience what the MC
and System 5-MC have to offer. You really need to see them for yourself
to fully grasp how they can change the way you work.”
GC Pro Director of Business Development Tom Menrath says,
“The Euphonic MC and System 5-MC are revolutionary products that
require a hands-on experience to truly appreciate their power. We are
very happy that Euphonix has come up with a solution to enable people
who might not otherwise have the opportunity for a direct experience
with these products to get the chance to try these control tools out
with their DAW software of choice.”
