RH FACTOR TAPS GENELEC ACTIVE MONITORING FOR NEW FACILITY
— Award-winning audio post production company changes location
and
adapts to changes in the industry, but its selection of Genelec as
monitoring solution of choice remains constant —
125th AES CONVENTION, SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 3,
2008 — As the film and TV industry adapts to rapidly changing
trends, RH Factor, a leading independent audio post house in Hollywood,
finds a reliable, constant standard for performance and sound quality
in Genelec Active Monitoring solutions. RH Factor, with TV credits ranging
from Boston Legal and CSI to My Name Is Earl and Ally McBeal, as well
as numerous independent feature films including the recently released
Greetings from the Shore, has just opened its new facility in Burbank,
CA. Genelec speakers serve as the primary monitoring systems for all
four studios in the new 8,000-square-foot facility, which includes a
feature mix stage, a television mix stage, a layback studio and a Foley/ADR
stage.
Mix A, the largest of the two mix stages, has a completely
redesigned front wall fitted with three Genelec 1038B Tri-Amplified
Active Monitors for the LCR array, four 8040A Bi-Amplified Active Monitors
as surrounds, and the 7071A Active Subwoofer. Mix B features Genelec’s
DSP Series 8200 Bi-Amplified Active Monitors with the company’s
proprietary DSP (Digital Signal Processing), GLM™ (Genelec Loudspeaker
Manager software) and AutoCal™ (Automated Calibration software)
technologies. It has three Genelec 8250A Active Monitors for its LCR
array and a pair of 8240A Bi-Amplified Active Monitors for surrounds,
complemented with a 7270A Active Subwoofer. The Layback studio uses
five Genelec 8240A Active Monitors and a 7270 Active Subwoofer in a
surround configuration. The ADR/Foley stage has a pair of Genelec 1030A
Bi-Amplified Active Monitors for nearfield monitoring.
“We wanted to create a comfortable post production
space for the client, and that includes monitoring that is accurate
and non-fatiguing – that’s what Genelec delivers,”
says RH Factor’s Craig Hunter. “I’m a huge fan of
Genelec monitors, especially their DSP technology. Intuitive software
handles the acoustic optimization and allows use in any environment.
And the electronics and the speaker are always perfectly matched. That
kind of innovation is unrivalled. No matter where the business takes
us, we’ll always take Genelec along.”

Genelec, the pioneer in Active Monitoring technology,
is celebrating 30 years of designing and manufacturing active loudspeakers
for true and accurate sound reproduction. Genelec is credited with promoting
the concept of active transducer technology, which many manufacturers
are just now incorporating into their products. Since its inception
in 1978, Genelec has concentrated its efforts and resources into creating
active monitors with unparalleled sonic integrity. The result is an
active speaker system that has earned global acclaim for its accurate
imaging, extremely high acoustic output from small enclosures, true
high-fidelity with low distortion, and deep, rich bass.
