GENELEC EXHIBITS ITS MOST POWERFUL SUBWOOFER TO DATE:
THE HTS6 ACTIVE SUBWOOFER
— The Genelec HTS6 is ideal for large theatrical surround sound
installations —
CEDIA EXPO, DENVER, CO, September 3, 2008 —
Genelec Inc. is showing the powerful HTS6 Active Subwoofer as part of
its acclaimed line of Custom Installation products. The HTS6 is suitable
for use with any of Genelec’s tri-amplified active loudspeaker
systems.
Designed for large-scale installations in either stereo
or surround, the HTS6 features four 12" drivers, a frequency response
of 19 Hz to 120 Hz, and fast-acting, low distortion amplifiers. It can
achieve a maximum =129 dB SPL. In addition, all electronics are integrated
into the HTS6 subwoofer cabinet, including active filters, driver overload
protection circuits and power amplifiers.
The HTS6 has a Signal Sensing Auto-On/Off Circuit and
12 Volt trigger, plus level and phase controls. This ensures coherent
matching between the HTS6 and the main speakers, regardless of their
physical position in the room. In addition, the HTS6 includes XLR and
RCA line level input connectors (with input sensitivity) for easy connection
to all types of popular decoders, as well as a Link Out connector which
allows coupling of two or more subwoofers together when even higher
sound pressure levels are required.
The four drivers used in the HTS6 are 12" diameter
long-throw types, while the amplifier can deliver up to 1 kilowatt RMS
of short-term power with minimal THD and intermodulation distortion.
The amplifier also features power-on muting and driver overload protection.
The powerful HTS6 Active Subwoofer measures 20-5/8" H x 56-11/16"
W x 22" D and weighs 265 lbs.
