GUITAR CENTER STORES IN THE NORTH TEXAS/OKLAHOMA/ARKANSAS REGION ENCOURAGE CUSTOMERS TO DONATE FOOD TO THOSE IN NEED

10 percent off of any single-item purchase —

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, March 4, 2008 – Guitar Center, the world’s largest musical instrument and professional audio retailer, announces an incentive program carried out by several of its stores to encourage customers to contribute goods to those in need and support regional food banks. For three days, starting Friday, March 7th, 2008, 11 Guitar Center stores in North and West Texas, Oklahoma and Fayetteville, Arkansas, will offer customers a 10-percent discount on any single-item purchase from participating manufacturers in exchange for non-perishable food donations they bring to the store. Two Dallas-area Guitar Center locations and Guitar Center stores in Plano, Lewisville, Arlington, Ft. Worth, Lubbock, Amarillo, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Fayetteville expect to collect over three tons of food to split among seven local non-profit food banks in this second annual Guitar Center food drive. Donations from Guitar Center customers will be sent to the North Texas Food Bank, the Tarrant County Food Bank, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, the South Plains Food Bank, the High Plains Food Bank and the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.

This initiative reflects Guitar Center’s intense commitment to its local communities and organizations. “We’re a national company, but we’re also part of our regional families,” says Jeff Hiller, District Sales Manager for Guitar Center. “This is a way for us to contribute on a local level and continue to show support for our communities. Also, it’s a way for our employees to give back, and to view their relationship with Guitar Center as more than a job. It’s something much larger than that for all of us.”

A similar drive in 2007 resulted in over 2,300 pounds of food donated to regional food banks, feeding over 10,000 people. Hiller expects to triple that outcome this year, with more than three tons of food, able to make over 30,000 meals.
