GUITAR CENTER APPOINTS STAN MORGAN
VICE PRESIDENT, ACCESSORIES MERCHANDISING
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, July 25, 2006 — Guitar Center, Inc.
(Nasdaq NMS: GTRC), the leading musical instrument and professional
audio retailer, announces it has named Stan Morgan as Vice President,
Accessories Merchandising. In his new position, Morgan will be responsible
for the merchandising of accessory products in Guitar Center locations
across the U.S. He reports to Jay Wanamaker, Executive Vice President
and General Merchandise Manager for Guitar Center.
Morgan has a broad background in the music industry at
retail and wholesale levels in sales, merchandising and marketing. He
was most recently Senior Vice President of Sales for Loud Technologies,
covering all brands and lines, including Mackie, Ampeg, Crate, and Alvarez,
in the U.S. and Canada. His prior experience includes sales management
and field sales experience at St. Louis Music Supply where he was Vice
President of Sales; Hardigg Industries where he served as National Sales
Manager; and Zero Halliburton/Anvil Case Company where he was Midwestern
Regional Sales Manager. Morgan was a Product Manager for accessories
and string instruments at St. Louis Music Supply and managed retail
music stores in Texas. His career began on the selling floor at Parker
Music in Houston.
