REVEL’S NEW CONCERTA SERIES OFFERS
TOP PERFORMANCE IN ITS CLASS
— Revel introduces a new line of high-performance loudspeakers,
featuring classic Revel sound, that establishes a new benchmark for
sonic accuracy and
wide dynamic range at a more affordable price point —
CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW, LAS VEGAS, NV, January
6, 2005 — Revel has chosen the 2005 Consumer Electronics
Show to introduce its Concerta Series Loudspeakers. Designed to meet
Revel’s award-winning sonic performance criteria, the new Concerta
range features the company’s proprietary transducer designs, sophisticated
filter networks, unparalleled engineering and can be seamlessly combined
with other models in the line as part of a two-channel or multi-channel
home entertainment system.
The Concerta Series consists of the F12 floor-standing
Loudspeaker, M12 Monitor, C12 Center Channel, S12 Surround Speaker and
B12 Subwoofer. Each model benefits from the latest innovations in technology
as well as the employment of Revel’s vast engineering resources.
Using laser interferometry, Revel’s R & D department performs
detailed driver and cabinet analysis; multiple anechoic chambers enable
precise tests and measurement data; finite element analysis provides
for advanced loudspeaker modeling; a stereo lithography apparatus aids
in achieving tight tolerances; and finally, to focus on the listening
experience, a state-of-the-art multi-channel listening lab allows for
double-blind listening tests, ensuring the Concerta Series reproduces
the source signal with greater accuracy than any other loudspeakers
in their category.
The new Concerta Series Loudspeakers are an exceptional
value and offer many high-quality performance advantages, employing
materials and features usually reserved for more expensive products.
These include: an Organic Ceramic Composite material used for the woofer,
midrange and tweeter diaphragms for low distortion (an anodized aluminum
diaphragm on the B12 Subwoofer); a proprietary tweeter waveguide for
seamless midrange-tweeter blending, even far off-axis; high-order filter
networks for wide dynamic range without compression; optimized woofer
and midrange motor structures; magnetic shielding for use near video
monitors; gold-plated binding posts; and an elegant cabinet design in
a selection of high-quality vinyl finishes: Natural Cherry, Maple or
Black Ash.
The F12 Loudspeaker is a three-way, full range speaker
comprising four proprietary transducers — two 8-inch woofers,
a 5.25-inch midrange and 1-inch tweeter. Together, the F12 transducers
provide an extremely wide frequency response with very low coloration
and high output capability. Featuring an optimized woofer and midrange
motor structure, the F12 uses a proprietary tweeter waveguide for seamless
midrange-tweeter blending. The F12 delivers extraordinarily accurate
sound with a frequency response of 33 Hz to 18 kHz ± 1 dB, has
gold-plated binding posts and is magnetically shielded for use where
video monitors are in close proximity. Employing an elegant cabinet
design in a selection of high-quality vinyl finishes, the F12 measures
42.3" H (including feet) x 9.75" W x 14.3" D (includes
grille) and weighs 62.6 lbs.
The M12 Monitor is a two-way monitor featuring a 6.5-inch
woofer and 1-inch tweeter — both with Organic Ceramic Composite
diaphragms. Also employing a proprietary tweeter waveguide for seamless
woofer-tweeter blending, the M12 produces an expansive sound, low distortion
and unsurpassed accuracy for a compact loudspeaker. The M12 delivers
accurate sound with a frequency response of 65 Hz to 15 kHz ±
1.5 dB, has gold-plated binding posts and is also magnetically shielded
for use where video monitors are in close proximity. Featuring an elegant
cabinet design in a selection of high-quality vinyl finishes, the M12
measures 13.8" H (39.2" with optional stand) x 8.9" W
x 11.6" D (includes grille) and weighs 19.2 lbs.
The C12 Center Channel is a true three-way center speaker
and the perfect companion to F12 and M12. It is also suited in systems
that require horizontally oriented speakers. The C12 consists of two
6.5-inch woofers, a 4-inch midrange and 1-inch tweeter — all with
Organic Ceramic Composite diaphragms for low distortion. Also featuring
an optimized woofer and midrange motor structure, the C12 Monitor uses
a proprietary tweeter waveguide for seamless midrange-tweeter blending.
Delivering accurate sound with a frequency response of 85 Hz to 15 kHz
± 1.5 dB, the C12 has gold-plated binding posts and is magnetically
shielded for use where video monitors are in close proximity. The C12
employs an elegant cabinet design in a selection of high-quality vinyl
finishes, measures 9.1" H (21.1" with optional stand) x 20.9"
W x 10.1" D (includes grille), weighs 32 lbs. and also includes
an adjustable tilting mechanism.
The S12 Surround Speaker is a two-way surround sound speaker
featuring dual 5-inch woofers and dual 1-inch tweeters, all with Organic
Ceramic Composite diaphragms and Controlled Acoustic Impedance Tweeter
waveguides. The S12 employs optimized woofer and midrange motor structures,
and has a unique Surround Mode Configuration control with monopole,
bipole and dipole modes. The S12 has a frequency response of 60 Hz to
20 kHz ± 3 dB, has gold-plated binding posts and is magnetically
shielded for use where video monitors are in close proximity. Featuring
an elegant cabinet design in high-quality black or white vinyl finishes,
the S12 measures 11.8" H x 13.3" W x 7.0" D (includes
grille) and weighs 12.3 lbs. In addition, the S12 comes with rear keyholes
for wall mounting.
The powered B12 Subwoofer was designed to complement the
entire Concerta Series Loudspeakers. Featuring impressive bass output
from its proprietary 10-inch woofer, the B12 has an integrated 650-Watt
amplifier (<0.1% THD from 20 Hz to 150 Hz), low-pass crossover (50
Hz to 175 Hz, 24 db/octave continuously variable), and low frequency
extension (anechoic) of –3 db @ 28 Hz/-6 db @ 25 Hz/-10 db @ 23
Hz. The B12 has an advanced woofer motor structure with a large voice
coil for high output with low dynamic compression, a Parametric Room
Equalizer, line level RCA inputs, Phase switch, and Bass Volume Level
control. Housed in an elegant cabinet design available in a selection
of high-quality vinyl finishes, the B12 measures 13.1" H x 13.1"
W x 15.1" D (includes grille) and weighs 64 lbs.
The new Concerta Series Loudspeakers can be employed in
stereo, as an LCR array or in a multi-channel setup for a high-performance
5.1- or 7.1-channel surround sound solution.
“The Concerta Series represents Revel’s extraordinary
ability to design and manufacture a premium line of loudspeakers with
true audiophile sound quality at a lower price point,” stated
Kevin Voecks, Director of Technology for Revel. “We specifically
designed this innovative product range to appeal to a wide audience
as well as address a variety of applications. The result is an incredibly
affordable series of loudspeakers that feature Revel’s legendary
sound quality, establishing a new benchmark for low coloration, wide
dynamic range loudspeakers.”
