— Site also gains first place recognition from Internet Retailer —

Musician’s Friend, Inc., the largest direct response retailer of musical instruments and gear in the U.S., and a division of Guitar Center since 1999, is proud to be recognized once again with top honors by two prominent online retailer authorities.

First, the site was acknowledged during the 25th Annual Multichannel Merchant Awards held in Orlando, Florida, where MusiciansFriend.com earned Website of the Year honors, receiving the highest score of all websites judged in all categories. Additionally, the MusiciansFriend.com site won a Gold Award in the Computer and High-Tech Equipment and Software category. This marks the fourth year in a row that Musician’s Friend has been a finalist, having also won Gold awards in the Computer and High Tech Equipment category in 2007 and 2009 and a Silver award in 2008. As in past years, Musician’s Friend was in good company – other Gold and Silver winners included Crutchfield, L.L. Bean, Harry & David and The Orvis Co. – all significant leaders in direct marketing.

Additionally, Musician’s Friend has also taken the number-one position, based on sales, in Internet Retailer magazine’s annual Top 100 Web Retailers List in the Specialty/Non-Apparel category for 2010. Among all domestic web retailers, Musician’s Friend ranks #38 in annual sales, maintaining the company’s consistent top-40 streak.

Craig Johnson, Musician’s Friend CEO, stated, “I’m delighted to report our most recent set of accolades from the Multichannel Merchant Awards and Internet Retailer magazine. These outstanding honors from our industry peers are the collective effort of every member of the Musician’s Friend team and I personally thank and congratulate them. We thank these two organizations for recognizing our hard work, and look forward to continuing to provide our customers with the best e-commerce and catalog shopping experience possible.”
