Dynaudio’s Unheard Chooses Waves LV1 eMotion
Live Mixer and Plugins for NAMM 2019
The NAMM Show, Anaheim, California, January 23, 2019 — Waves Audio (Booth #15302), a leading provider of processing solutions, supports Dynaudio’s Unheard touring studio with the Waves eMotion LV1 Live Mixer.
Danish loudspeaker specialist Dynaudio has been working closely with the 2019 NAMM Show to offer unsigned artists the opportunity to get their big break. The concept requires an exceedingly complex, technical setup, both to record the artists and to provide a separate multi-channel audio feed to a front-of-house PA system, while another feed is passed on to a video-editing team. Furthermore, the artists also need to have a headphone-monitor mix. Altogether, it is a studio recording session combined with a live concert and near-real-time broadcast.
The mixing and audio-routing backbone of the system is provided by Waves Audio and Digital Audio Denmark. Two Waves eMotion LV1 systems are installed for mixing and FOH.
The Waves eMotion LV1 Live Mixer is a revolutionary digital mixing console for front-of-house, monitor and broadcast engineers. Based on Waves SoundGrid technology, this software mixer delivers the superior sound quality for which Waves is renowned, as well as the quick and convenient workflow needed in demanding live environments. The eMotion LV1 gives you unprecedented control over every aspect of your live sound. Each of the mixer’s channels has its own plugin rack capable of running up to eight SoundGrid-compatible plugins. This means you can mix live with hundreds of your favorite plugins—all running inside the mixer itself. All plugin presets and chains saved in eMotion LV1 can be shared with the Waves MultiRack and StudioRack plugin hosts, enabling you to move seamlessly between live and studio environments.
Ashley Shepherd, Head engineer on the Dynaudio Unheard at NAMM 2019, comments, “The Waves LV1 is a perfect fit for the Dynaudio Unheard touring studio. Since the concept is based on a hybrid of live performance and recording, the ability to use studio quality plugins in a very low latency environment, while also providing front-of-house sound to the audience, makes the choice obvious. The LV1 represents the next evolution in audio processing for experiential events of all kinds.”
Mick Olesh, Waves EVP of Sales & Marketing, comments, “Waves is delighted and gratified by its eMotion LV1 Live Mixer becoming a popular choice among a growing number of productions, venues, and FOH and monitor engineers across the board, and specifically with the opportunity to provide Dynaudio’s Unheard touring studio with an array of crucial solutions for their intricate sound requirements.” |
