FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TAL HERZBERG HAS RAVES FOR WAVES
— Noted engineer/programmer/producer likes what he hears
when it comes to Waves’ new plug-in processors, including
pitch-correction miracle Tune and amp-modeling marvel GTR™ —
KNOXVILLE, TN, December 23, 2005— Tal Herzberg
has done it all — the classically trained musician played on over
60 albums by age 22, and is a four-time GRAMMY® nominee for his
work as an engineer, programmer, mixer, editor and producer. Furthermore,
he’s done it with the best — Herzberg’s discography
includes artists such as Counting Crows, David Bowie, Goo Goo Dolls,
Green Day and Herbie Hancock, and producers including Jack Joseph Puig,
Ron Fair and Desmond Child. So when Herzberg talks, a lot of people
listen, and lately he’s been talking about some of the newest
plug-in processors from Waves.
“Being an avid Waves plug-ins user for many years,
I am very excited about some of the recent additions to the company’s
tools array,” says Herzberg, who has been working often at the
Record Plant’s Studio 2 and at his own studio inside the Henson
Studios complex in Hollywood. “Tune, the new automatic pitch correction
tool, allows me to create additional harmonies from vocal parts, some
as much as an octave up or down, without any noticeable texture change
from the original sound of the vocalist. And GTR™, the new amplifier
and stomp-box modeling plug-in and hardware, is a very realistic-sounding
emulator, a fun and creative sound design tool, producing accurate-sounding
guitar tracks right in the box.”
Of course, Herzberg is still a fan of the Waves plug-ins
he has used all along. “The L3 has become my go-to stereo bus
processor, instantly adding punch and sheen to mixes and stems,”
he notes. “In the same way, Sound Shifter became my go-to pitch
shifting and time comp/expander tool, yielding realistic and artifact-free
results unlike any processor I’ve used before. All I can say is:
Keep up the good work, Waves!”
Herzberg has used the wide range of Waves plug-in processors
on an even wider variety of projects. These include recent major recording
projects such as the Black Eyed Peas’ Monkey Business, Mary J.
Blige’s The Breakthrough and PCD by the Pussycat Dolls.
