FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Novation reveals FLpad, the grid controller for FL Studio
Los Angeles, CA, October 1, 2026 – Novation announces its latest collaboration with Image-Line, maker of FL Studio. FLpad, the first 8x8 grid controller made specifically for FL Studio, brings a fast, groovebox-like workflow to the Channel Rack, offering beatmakers new ways to get hands-on with their projects.
The range comprises FLpad and FLpad Mini. The former features a larger grid and velocity-sensitive pads for expressive playing, while the latter is geared towards grab-and-go creation or more compact setups. Both sizes offer 64 RGB-backlit pads with direct access to step sequencing, finger drumming, and melodic playing — either chromatically or locked to a chosen scale.
Alongside the 8x8 grids, both FLpad and FLpad Mini also feature an array of dedicated controls for navigating the sequencer and channel rack, building tracks with Patterns, mode switching, transport control, undo/redo, and more. Novation Components makes it easy to create custom layouts for specific FL Studio workflows or for working with other software and hardware.
“We’re proud to partner with Image-Line once again and build on the momentum of FLkey 2 with a new line of hardware controllers,” says Novation Product Manager Mario Buoninfante. “Through our previous collaborations with Image-Line, we’ve gained a deep appreciation for what makes this DAW so beloved of beatmakers. This understanding has led us directly to FLpad — a grid controller made specifically to augment FL Studio’s unique workflows in intuitive and inspiring new ways.”
While FLpad shares the form factor of Novation’s ubiquitous Launchpad range, its DNA is entirely new; from its user interface to its firmware and DAW scripts, FLpad has been designed with FL Studio’s Channel Rack in mind.
All FLpad controllers include six months of FL Studio Producer Edition plus a range of premium instruments and effects from UVI, GForce, and Klevgrand, along with finger-drumming lessons from Melodics.
