STOW, OH, May 15, 2025 — Reaffirming its commitment to excellence in analog playback, Audio-Technica today announced the introduction of its AT-LPA2 turntable. The new top-of-the-line turntable incorporates many significant upgrades and includes Audio-Technica’s acclaimed AT-OC9XEN moving-coil phono cartridge, to deliver extraordinary sound quality from vinyl records.
“The AT-LPA2 is the finest turntable Audio-Technica has ever developed and is designed to reveal the purity of analog audio at its finest,” said Bob Peet, Global Product Manager – Analog Products. “It combines exceptional performance with ease of setup and use, making it ideal for veteran audiophiles as well as new listeners who want maximum enjoyment from their record collections.”
The AT-LPA2 is made from transparent acrylic, a material that combines stunning contemporary aesthetics with vibration-damping properties to reduce unwanted resonances to a minimum. The turntable features a 30 mm acrylic chassis and 20 mm acrylic platter, to provide exceptional rotational stability. Speed accuracy at 33-1/3 and 45 RPM is maintained by means of an optical sensor positioned under the turntable spindle. The AT-LPA2’s power supply and controls are housed in a separate unit away from the turntable itself, which isolates the turntable motor from electrical interference and ensures ultra-quiet operation.
The turntable comes with an AT-OC9XEN moving-coil phono cartridge pre-mounted to a machined aluminum headshell, to deliver superlative resolution of the most refined musical detail, and make setting up the turntable easy. The OC9 Series has long been acclaimed as a reference standard in cartridge design, and the AT-OC9XEN features a nude elliptical stylus, high-purity PCOCC oxygen-free copper internal wiring, a dual-magnet design for maximum stereo separation and imaging, a neodymium magnet structure, and a rigid aluminum body.
The AT-LPA2 features an all-new lightweight, anti-resonant carbon fiber tonearm with adjustable VTA, azimuth and anti-skating adjustments. It’s supplied with two counterweights (110 and 130 grams) that allow the use of a wide variety of phono cartridges. The AT-LPA2 features heavy-duty height-adjustable isolation feet for solid, stable vinyl playback. The turntable comes with a removable hinged dust cover, 45 RPM adapter, RCA connecting cable and other accessories – even a pair of white gloves to keep the turntable clean during setup.
The Audio-Technica AT-LPA2 turntable will be available in May 2025 at a suggested U.S. retail price of $2,000. |
